First Quarter Moon in Aquarius.

First Quarter Moon in Aquarius.

Setting the mood last night. Yoga by candlelight with doTerra’s Forgive blend in the air diffuser.

Last nights First Quarter Moon in Aquarius was nothing short of magical. Aquarius…the water-bearer. Fluid and limitless. Individualized and free. Aquarius reminds us that we hold the space that surrounds us.

We have the freedom of creating a space that kindles our eternal flame within. It doesn’t have to be grand…a simple one lit candle will do. If your body is your temple, then your home is your garden…create your space.

If you only have one bedroom…personalize it. If you have a traveling altar…bring it with you. If you have a home away from your home like a yoga center and want support…go there, they’ve created a space there to hold for you to melt in.

Whatever you do…surround yourself with things that kindle your eternal flame…and if you are feeling grand…build your stately palace by candlelight.

Love & Moonlight,

Kelly

P.S. Last nights yoga flow was inspired by the Rishi Twist seen above. In Sanskrit it is called the Bharadvaja or Bharadvajasana. Heart lifted… When you come out of the pose…slowly unfold like a water fountain with your head unfolding last.

First Quarter Moon in Sagittarius.

First Quarter Moon in Sagittarius.

Free your mind.

Free your mind.

Free your mind.

And the rest will follow.

At this first quarter moon in Sagittarius tap into your inner GYPSY, STUDENT, AND PHILOSOPHER. (The three destinies of the Sagittarius as Steven Forrest suggests). This lunar cycle, that began with the New Moon in Virgo, is ridiculously centered around freedom. I figure…for me…this is extremely opening and terrifying in the same. What do you do when your life is shaken up? YOU FREE YOUR MIND. AND THE REST WILL FOLLOW.

Tap into your gypsy: Be free and FREE YOUR MIND. You are bound by nothing. Nothing holds you. If you have too much mind chatter going on….free your mind. Literally STOP the mind sabotage and FREE YOURSELF. Sit in silence. AND listen to your breath. If negative thoughts creep into your mind…acknowledge them…THEN SET THEM FREE. They do not hold you.

Tap into your student: LEARN. Learn what works and what doesn’t. When you feel pain…let it crack your heart open AND LET THE LIGHT IN. Learn that you are not the pain you feel. YOU are growing. YOU are learning.

 {Philosophy by Meghan Guarino…me sistah} //

Tap into your philosopher: Decide on whether or not you want to be a functionalistic or cocreationalistic being. Functionalistic ideals focus on nothing but the bottom line. Cocreationalistic ideals involve the community. In other words, cocreationalists tap into the people around them to help make decisions that will ultimately impact the community as a whole. Typically, these ideals are geared toward organizations and public relations, but one can adopt them at a personal level. Are you in it for yourself or for others?

FREE YOUR MIND….and the rest will follow.

First Quarter Moon

For this first quarter moon phase…I’m just honoring my body, mind, and soul.

Usually I talk about the zodiac sign that the moon is in during my moon posts…BTW it is in Taurus… But tonight, I’m just going to talk…about what is inside me…a little diary piece.

Yoga is changing my life…mentally, physically, deeply. Every day I find progress in my emotions, my physicality, my soul. I’m learning how to let go of pain…how to find peace within it.

I don’t cry anymore. I’ve learned to just be. I flow. I flow. I flow.

I’m working on balance…On the mat…and in my heart.

I don’t cry anymore. I’ve learned to just be.  I flow. I flow. I flow.

Silent. Considerate. Grounded.

Love & Moonlight,

Kelly

Eats. First Quarter Moon in Aires.

Mmm. I find it like clockwork that I feel the need to post on days when the moon shifts into the next big phase. Not by purpose…but by instinct.

Tonight the moon shifts into the first quarter moon phase…and it just so happens to be in Aires tonight! I’m feeling on fire with my intention!!! Ha…you Aires! Speaking of reflecting back to my intention (as the first quarter moon calls for you to do), I feel like today I’ve really set the tone with doing me…last night I went to a Mary Kay facial seminar thing that I won…had a makeover and tried some really lovely face products….me below glowing after the Mary Kay Facial Party!

I purchased some things from a friend and felt very…very…and I mean VERY feminine! And good. Good to the bone.

Took the initiative to take care of my skin…and then today on a whim…bought some good to the bone food! (First picture).

Typically, when I get the urge to buy fruits and vegetables, I’ll neglect them in the fridge until they rot before my eyes…but today….mmm, was more than just your typical urge…today was a spontaneous and yet very Aires urge…of buying fruits and vegetables that I followed through with and actually ate!

Not to mention my youngest was thrilled beyond her years to eat what I served for dinner!

Whole Foods lemon pepper rotisserie chicken (which is unbeatable with a price of $6.99 for a whole chicken already cooked…any of their rotisserie chickens are really yummy), organic carrots (which were on sale), lady of the moon organic tomatoes (had to buy because it was from Lady Moon Farms…hello moon), ranch dip made with sour cream and hidden valley ranch powder, kimchi, blueberries, and Pinot noir in my Virgo cup!. Felt very spontaneous and healthy today! Because everyone who knows me…knows I love to eat candy..most of the time…and I truly eat whatever I feel like…Ha! (No strict diet here!) So tonight was very….health minded! Felt very good!

Thinking back to my very feminine new moon intention …I’m doing me! And tonight I honored my body with some good food!

Reflect back to your new moon intention…and find your next step!

First Quarter Moon in Pisces.

The sky was just…

Heart Opened.

Love Flowing.

The sun set.

The moon rises.

Now that it’s the first quarter moon phase I can feel myself craving to come back. Back to my authentic self. Back to my intentions.

What have I intended? Where can I go from here? How can I feed this craving?

Pisces…the fishes. Flowing. Flowing. Flowing. The ocean. Vast. Expansive. My heart. Vast. Expansive. Flowing. Flowing. Flowing. Ebb. Flow. Light filling. I think back to my intention. I feel the vastness of what I intend…I am expanding. I am flowing. I am opening my heart. I’m letting the love flow freely. I am a lotus. I am open. My heart is open. I am flowing. Lotus mudra. Lotus mudra. Lotus mudra.

First Quarter Moon…Currently in Capricorn…But Moving into Aquarius at 9:38 pm tonight.

By Ida Rentoul Outhwaite

By Ida Rentoul Outhwaite

Oh yes…you first quarter moon phase. You are just in time for some change. As the moon sits right now…it is half full and in Capricorn. But Aquarius will be taking center stage in just a few short hours.

What does this mean? Well…today you may have felt the urge to work, work, work (thanks Capricorn)…maybe even set your emotions aside to get a job done. But alas…AQUARIUS is on it’s way….and Aquarius has some soul questions to ask tonight…

Tonight…as you get ready for bed….think about today. Think about what happened. Think about what you have been thinking about…AND THINK SOME MORE.

Tonight may be a good night to think about your options…think about a decision you have been putting off…or just reflect on what your new moon intention or goal was for this lunar cycle. Aquarius asks you….WHAT DOES FREEDOM MEAN TO YOU?

How do you define freedom? Like really? How do you define freedom? That is one of the hardest questions to answer….and often times I look for the answer….by way of signs…searches…questioning.  Aquarius wants to know….what does freedom mean to you? If ANYBODY has a good answer….let me know! Comment…or send me a message…Because I want to know!

Love & Moonlight,

Kelly

P.S. I am going to try and refrain from rechecking my grammar on this one…and I’m going to let my grammar mistakes HANG OUT THERE….because tonight…I’m just relaxing. Mmmmk. Bye.

P.S.S. See that dragonfly…um…symbolizing some change! MAKE A DECISION. Define your freedom! Thank you! Period. The End. Amen.

First Quarter Moon in Capricorn.

The Tivoli at 290 by Kelly Walden of The Walden Moon

The moon entered into Capricorn at the first quarter phase last night.

This is your first check in point. Your first half moon…a time to look at your New Moon Goal or New Moon Mindset again. Notice how far you have come and then make a note of the next steps to take for completing you goal/mindset by the Full Moon. This First Quarter Moon phase will be in Capricorn this month! Capricorn the Sea-Goat…a creature that is both fish and goat…one that can swim in the deepest seas and scale the scariest mountains. At this First Quarter Moon phase…think about how the Capricorn has a duality. Think of your duality for being the goal/mindset and the journey to complete it.

Then look back again at your New Moon goal that was in Virgo. Here is the link back to the past New Moon post. For me…I’ve been slowly, but surely, finding myself. Finding what is important to me…and discovering who I am. And this moon cycle I’ve fallen in love with the following passage I shared at the New Moon:

“The Virgin is an image of purity. Nothing has possessed her. She is attached to nothing, wants nothing, fears nothing. Nothing holds her. She is free, unbound by any earthly drama.

Yet she is here, on the earth. What does the world offer one who seeks nothing but perfection? What can she do? She waits, aloof as the Madonna. She works on herself. And to pass the time, she helps out where she can.” – Steven Forrest

^ Virgo…my sun sign…me.

In my next post…I’ll share something my friend shared with me…something that goes along with my Virgo New Moon goal…

Kelly

First Quarter Moon in Sagittarius.

Jessie M. King, The Dove-Cot by the Sea, 1905. Watercolor on parchment. Glasgow, Scottland. Via University of Heidelberg

The moon entered Sagittarius last night during the first quarter moon phase. Sagittarius…the archer. The seeker of knowledge. The seeker of life. Steven Forrest best describes the Sagittarian’s archetype in The Inner Sky as “The Gypsy, The Student, and The Philosopher” in that hierarchical order.

So how can we use these archetypes during the first quarter moon phase?! By honing in on their instinctual nature as the perpetual student of life we can think about how far we have come and recheck back in with ourselves. The first quarter moon phase is a half way point, a check in point…a half moon. When working with the moon as your natural time clock to get things done…this is the moment when you check back in with your new moon goal. The Sagittarian’s archetype came at the right time!

It begins as the gypsy, who is constantly seeking experience. The wanderer. The one who doesn’t sit still as he or she is on the go reeling in life at present moment. The gypsy is the one that gathers the information through experience. Without the gypsy, we are left closed minded. Be open minded…live. This can represent your new moon goal…the thing you are currently experiencing.

Then once you’ve started to gather this information and these experiences you become the STUDENT. For every encounter, for every triumph, for every hiccup, you learn from it. Your mind expands and you try to do better. This is your half way point…your first quarter moon phase. This is when you sit back down, look at your new moon goal AGAIN…check back in with yourself and your progress and LEARN from it. Be the student. Look at the goal and your progress of what worked and what didn’t…and then KEEP MOVING…KEEP DOING.

When the full moon comes…become the PHILOSOPHER. Master your skill…master your goal. Put what the gypsy and student provided and make things happen. Keep in mind that the philosopher is also an open minded student of life. He takes everything in and doesn’t let a set of standards dictate his life. After all, life is ever changing…and what you may believe today may shape into something different later in life. The key to a Sagittarian is to continuously be the gypsy, the student, and the philosopher. A good habit to get into. Make room for expansion!

Remember in the beginning of this current moon cycle…you set a new moon goal. You are continuously making room for that goal to be incorporated into your life…you’ve already made a promise to yourself to EXPAND! You have already begun to act like a Sagittarius. Because after all we ALL have Sagittarius in us…your natal chart is proof.

As for me...well my new moon goal was to get better at my culinary skills and primping. Next post I’ll be sharing a Blueberry Cobbler recipe!

Love & Moonlight,

Kelly

P.S. I picked the painting above for this moon cycle to pair it with the archetypal Sagittarius. It’s a watercolor painting of wandering women by the sea with a dove-cot or dovecote. She’s surrounded by either doves or pigeons. To me it looked free spirited. A dovecote is an old medieval structure that noble people used to house pigeons and doves almost like a chicken coop. They kept pigeons and doves as a food source as well as used their poop for fertilizer. What I see in this painting is a free spirited gypsy woman with free flying doves of knowledge.
