100 Days of Affirmation 3 of 100

3 of 100 Days of Affirmation.

“I surrender my anxiety and my sense of urgency. I allow God to guide me in the pacing of my life. I open my heart to GOD’S TIMING.I release my deadlines, agendas, and stridency to the gentle yet often swift pacing of God. As I open my heart to God’s unfoldings, my heart attains peace. As I relax into God’s timing, my heart contains comfort. As I allow God to set the tone and schedule of my days, I find myself in the right time and place, open and available to God’s opportunities.” – Julia Cameron

North Georgia // Day Two

I started the day with a solo morning stroll through Helen, Georgia. Chatted up with the Chattahoochee River…. And then took a day trip to Athens, Georgia for some Terrapin Beer.

Yours truly giving a peace sign by sun shadow. On my morning stroll. The next couple videos are me and the Chattahoochee River getting to know each other.

The Helendorf Inn. Where we stayed. It had the cutest paintings all over it and our balcony overlooked the Chattahoochee River. It was cute..not ritzy.. just Helen.

More paintings from our cute Bavarian style hotel.

Rapunzel… Rapunzel… Let down your long hair.

Terrapin Brewery Tour in Athens, Georgia.

Been home for two days now…but had to share the rest of the photographs.

Love & Moonlight,

Kelly

PS. Happy last quarter moon…

North Georgia // Day One

Yours truly with the Anna Ruby Falls.

Mark and I with the Anna Ruby Falls // 10 year Anniversary

Anna Ruby Falls // Where the York Creek and Curtis Creek fall to form the Smith Creek…which then drains into the Chattahoochee River.

Icicles in a Cove Forest

North Georgia is so pretty. Above are photographs from our trip to the Chattahoochee National Forest where we took a short hike to see the Anna Ruby Falls. Breathtaking for sure. Surprisingly it wasn’t as cold as I anticipated, given the fact that there were some melting icicles and some snow still left on the ground.

That forest was quite enchanting. They called it a Cove Forest // for its tall trees on the mountain side and its rich soil. Because the light only hits the ground for a short period of time during the day the earth stays moist creating a great habitat for a variety of plants (like moss and ferns) and animals. Not to mention the creeks that run through it and the underground water that surfaces. It was truly I site to see. I’d imagine that in the spring and summer time it would be even prettier and greener! Those falls were bigger than I expected! It definitely did not disappoint.

Red wine and Hansel & Gretel truffles.

We came to Helen, Georgia last minute for our ten year anniversary… The town is cute…but the mountains and land around it is my favorite! Especially the creeks and rivers! Our hotel sits on the Chattahoochee River which is most magical to me! We have a balcony that looks out to the river…which is why I wanted to stay here. Anyways…we have more exploring to do!!! Will post some more from today in my next post!

Love & Moonlight,

Kelly

PS. Ava insisted we visit the Old Sautee Store to try their Farmers Cheese and crackers….and the ginger cookies! CHECK!

Winter Solstice.

Yours truly in my grandparents pecan grove. They started with 19 pecan trees and over the past 43 years had to cut a bunch down from storms and damages. They have six left but their neighborhood is still abundant with pecan trees. They also have a few fruit trees and blueberry bushes. Roses and other garden delights. Winter time has slumbered them for the time being.

Grandpa. Crossword puzzles. His Red Silverado. Standing in his pecan grove.

Grandma. Picking her roses. Trimming their thorns. And spotted little garden friends.

Spent my Winter Solstice with my Grandparents in Putney, Georgia.

The first day of Winter…the shortest day of the year. With Earth soundly sleeping there is promise of light coming near.

Love & Moonlight,

Kelly

PS. Stay tuned for a Winter Solstice activity tomorrow! Good night moon!

Tonight…Tonight…

Spent tonight at Creature Comforts Brewing Company…

Saw some Umphreys McGee…and ate a hamburger and fries…

Fell in love with this song…and its lyrics.

No Diablo by Umphreys McGee

And if you see it layin’ round it’s alright to take it

It’s nothing at all and if nobody saw, who knew?

But if the circumstance is right and you’re mistaken

I can’t tell you off hand but I’d say that it’s quite a few

Never speak too soon when an idea needs to level

Declarations can be made won’t make them true

And if you don’t make room in your backpack for the devil

You’ll have the weight of the world lifted off your shoulders too

Now I don’t mean to be misleading

Yeah, I would hate to complicate your point of view

And if you really just presume that’s my impression now of you

Well there’s a lot of ground to cover and even more that we need to talk through

One day I won’t be there when you fall

I know you got a lot that you got to say

Stop and think if it can wait at all

Doesn’t mean I wanted to be gone

Maybe you could give me a reason for why it always feels like everybody’s leavin’

If you haven’t got too far by now don’t worry

If you’re stuck in the crowd and you’re thinking out loud, I’d stop

No, I’m not suggesting here that you should hurry

But if everyone’s out for theirs could there be enough?

Don’t be flustered by your falls when they’re occurring

They won’t be factored in to the final score at all

So if morality calls you up and leaves a message

It’s always better advice to want to listen to it more than twice

Now I don’t mean to be misleading

Yeah, I would hate to complicate your point of view

And if you really just presume that’s my impression now of you

Well there’s a lot of ground to cover and even more that we need to talk through

One day I won’t be there when you fall

I know you got a lot that you got to say

Stop and think if it can wait at all

Doesn’t mean I wanted to be gone

Maybe you could give me a reason for why it always feels like everybody’s leavin’

Camping: Saturday and Sunday Adventures

Canoeing in the Redbird Creek on Fort McAllister…The big kids play while Uma is being her serene self…

Night time walking and camp fire…

We had a lot of fun spending two nights at Fort McAllister…

Sunday we headed for Tybee Island to camp at the Rivers End Camp ground. Spent Sunday morning swimming in the campground pool and then a walk to the beach for ocean fun and sun. Then a walk to dinner at the North Beach Grill on Tybee Island, Georgia. On the trip back Uma snagged some rocks for her “rock collection”.

We had so much fun this weekend! Full of love, beauty, and magic.
